Ukrainian Homecoming!

Sometimes humanity does, and other times doesn't, deserve the love of a dog!

I totally disagree w/ this piece. Trigger warnings simply provide context on pieces of information so ppl can knowingly opt in to consuming it

Saying TWs are making ppl soft (as this piece argues) is like saying rating some movies as “R” is making everyone more scared, or saying parental advisory stickers made ppl unable to endure cursing.

Curious to hear ppl’s thoughts https://www.theatlantic.com/magazine/archive/2023/09/trigger-warnings-feminism-teen-girls-mental-health/674759/ #mentalhealth

I Was Wrong About Trigger Warnings

Has the national obsession with trauma done real damage to teen girls?

@mmasnick Have you caught the latest episode of RadioLab? It's about Section 238. I think they did a pretty good job.

Lots of reporting on Ukraine repurposing Soviet air-defense missiles like this. https://www.popularmechanics.com/military/weapons/a44518794/urkaine-using-anti-air-missiles-to-attack-ground-targets/

I told my daughter this is how we texted each other when I was growing up.
Mastodon is great, the only thing I miss on this app is quote posts. I know they have a bad rap bc of Twitter, but every major social network has this functionality for a reason (Tumblr, LinkedIn, Facebook, IG). As a journalist, I’d love to add commentary and amplify great info, build on ppl’s points, etc. You just can’t do that the same wait with replies! Is there any chance we might get them on here?
Here’s what it looks like driving over the damaged section. It seems they put down a ramp. https://t.me/rian_ru/209218
