The entire point of mastodon is that it ISNT Twitter and dot social and wannabe Jack Dorsey over there seem to have completely forgotten that.
Instead of trying to bury the dirty laundry, de fucking federate from it. Instead of trying to make it as Twitter-like for new users as you can, put that effort in to a tutorial to teach people how to actually use the fediverse and keep themselves safe on it.
“Mastodon is just a Twitter clone at this point anyway” no bitch you’re just sitting on a flagship instance populated exclusively by reply guys and people who got banned from twitter for saying slurs too much.
Stop chasing clout hoping to gain 10,000 followers and become an “influencer” and switch to an actual instance.
Mastodon has always been amazing when you get as far away from the flagship and maintainer as possible.
Anyway instead of the shitty official app nobody asked for that took dev time and resources that could have been used to ban nazis from the flagship instances instead just pick up Amaroq, which has a 3.4/5 rating on the App Store because Gab users review bombed it due to there being hard coded blocks for fascist nodes on the app itself.
