Since October 2022, there’s actually been three migrations to the #Fediverse:
1- The migration to #Mastodon. Most people know about this one, since it’s been the biggest migration to the Fediverse so far. This doubled the size of the Fediverse and quadrupled the MAUs.
2- The migration to #Misskey (and forks). This one happened between January-April 2023. Fewer people know about this one because it was pretty much exclusive to Japanese speakers. But that migration resulted in most of the content that’s being presently generated on the Fediverse.
3- The migration to #Lemmy/#Kbin. This one is ongoing, and is responsible now for causing group actors to go mainstream. Nevertheless, we don’t know what the final effect will be.
