One of Quest's most ambitious VR games: Assassin's Creed Nexus brings Ezio, Kassandra and Connor into VR across three historical periods. Ubisoft stripped out the RPG bloat to focus on parkour, social stealth and air assassinations. Save-corruption issues and occasional clumsy melee, but the scope and real moments (returning to the Villa Auditore) make it stand out.

Five years on, Resident Evil 4 VR remains the gold standard for third-person-to-VR adaptation. Armature Studio reworked every scene, inventory menu, and quick-time event without breaking the original's deliberate rhythm. Physical typewriters, hand-operated drawers, sniping that still outdoes most dedicated VR shooters. Doc Neale called it the definitive version of one of the finest games ever made. That verdict holds. https://youtu.be/U7109Zboe0Y

"Battlemarked elevates Demeo into its best form yet."

Pete reviewed the Demeo x Dungeons & Dragons crossover. Smart pacing tweaks, more generous card mechanics, full story campaigns, class progression. It doesn't fully transform Demeo into a classic tabletop RPG, but it refines almost every aspect of the core experience.

Two years on, Riven VR remains the puzzle game we keep going back to when we want spatial problem-solving that actually uses VR properly. Cyan's remake turned a 1997 point-and-click into room-scale exploration, and the Quest 3 port still holds up surprisingly well despite texture compromises. The PC version is stunning, but the standalone version is genuinely beautiful.

"Stunning first hour, then the seams start showing."

We revisited our Into Black review: The Binary Mill's alien-world scavenger shooter drops you onto a gorgeous planet with witty AI sidekick, solo or co-op. The opening hours feel magical. The longer you play, the more the experience comes apart at the seams.

Back in January, we mapped out the 15 biggest VR games we expected for Meta Quest in 2026. Now that we're halfway through the year, it's worth revisiting: which of these actually shipped, which got delayed, and whether the roadmap we sketched still holds up. If you're trying to figure out what's left for the second half of 2026, this is a useful reference point. https://youtu.be/ZO4ydKyHM9c

Batman: Arkham Shadow is a generational VR sim. Camouflaj nailed the predator sequences, compromised smartly on combat with punch prompts, and delivered one of the best-looking Quest 3 environments yet. Troy Baker, Roger Craig Smith, and a story that earns its place in the series. Full review:

"If you want a story you can sink into without worrying about matchmaking or mic etiquette, these are the campaigns worth your time."

We ranked the best single-player narrative experiences on Meta Quest. Full breakdowns, what works, what doesn't, and why some of these still hold up years later.

Pete's full FlatOut 4: Total Insanity VR review is up after 25+ hours of demolition derbies and online races. Branching shortcuts, destruction combat, wheel support, your door ripping off mid-race while you T-bone another player off a bridge. He calls it one of the easiest VR racing recommendations he's ever made, possibly challenging the original Mario Kart for his favorite arcade racer of all time.

Still the best argument for standalone VR as a serious platform, two years later.

Asgard's Wrath 2 packed 60+ hours of Egyptian-pantheon action RPG onto Quest 3 hardware, with satisfying parry combat and a surprise roguelite sub-game. It remains one of the strongest cases that Quest can host full-scale experiences, not just bite-sized ports.
