This weather sure is making life difficult.

Boing!
Boy, talk about the weather. A few days ago the temperature reached 80 degrees with high humidity and violent weather followed. Today we are seeing snowflakes. Boing Boing, that is how our spring goes. and officially spring does not arrive until the 21st. and today is the 17th of March. My poor daffodils just started blooming and so I picked all the blooms.
Oh my gosh! It is finally here!
Spring has sprung. Lordy! I thought it would never get here! A week ago we inspected the gardens and there was not a spring bulb to be had. And today 3/9/26, some of the daffodils are suddenly 6 inches tall and some even have buds! _______ Robins The robins have returned, the sand-hill cranes have been looking for their nesting sites and the air is not so full of permafrost like it was.

January Sowing Already!?
Another year and here we go! 2026 is off to a quiet start. I came across this ditty on Facebook and thought I would share. Self seeders! I am going to have to check my seed stash top see what I have that I could mess with. Right now it is a very busy time of the year while I do the office shuffle of moving the previous year to the new and I tell you what, the harder I try to simplify things, I think the worse it gets for me, but I keep trying.

Gathering it in!
Slowly we are gathering it in. I think we got all the Acorn Squash – 2025 – 2026 and Butternut Squash – 2025-2026 out. I am working on drying seed now as we have delighted in feasting on several already. The Pumpkins – 2025-2026, I am not so sure as every time we go out to the patch we find more and we have not had any frost yet so the vines are still somewhat green in some spots.
