It seems kind of obvious but it's not frequently observed and it's worth noting: modern EDM is really just the latest form of two of the oldest musical elements in human history, namely rhythm and drones.
The combination never really left us, but it reemerged in Western pop music during the dawn of electronic music in the 1960s, in part because of the influence of Eastern music and ideology, but also because it sounded so damn good with synth and effects!

I'm open to arguments to the contrary, but it seems to me that there's no real semantic difference between coroutines/async and threads. It's purely a matter of implementation and how explicit the programmer needs to be to express them.
Ideally, I think we'd just code everything as if threads were unlimited and fast and the compiler and runtime would just decompose the code into sequences of non-blocking chunks, split out onto processing units.
Easiest general solution now is user threads.

Also, TIL that the sshfs protocol is just sftp. Now I can just mount my phone over wireless. I've been missing out!
My laziness in not taking a few minutes to find a better solution has cost me many hours of unnecessary toil over the years.
