Nemoudeis

I see more and more content creators telling their audience they shouldn't hesitate to leave a positive comment when they like what the author does instead of just fav'ing or clicking on "like" and just move on.

I now realise I've been trained my whole life to formulate negative criticism in various, complex ways. But I've never received any tips on how to speak about anything in positive terms. My compliment package is extremely limited and thus, irrelevant.

Is there a way to change that?

@nemoudeis in the #dolling community, a lot of boards would require some minimum content in replies to #dollz people would post, but they would also prompt you to say something nice so newbies wouldn't get discouraged and stop posting. It was good practice, since it made you stop a moment and evaluate what you could say was good

@nemoudeis in a different vein, today was bring your kid to work day, and my office put on a skit to have the kids pretend to be buying products for a store and explain their reasoning. Ofc they weren't very good at it, but just asking them "why do you like this" made them stop and come up with a more insightful explanation

Another: 😂

Or: omg I'm sobbing

Or: a series of quotations from the thing they have written with no additional commentary

Or: the above, but with bolding or hearts.

Or: any variation on "this was awesome" "I loved it" "I've read this several times" "this hit me hard" "beautiful" etc.

@nemoudeis Eloquently liking something is nice, and the more you can talk about why something is meaningful to you the more over the moon the creator will be. But in a world of silent Like and (if you're lucky) reblogs, knowing what people think about your work in even the smallest way is incredibly validating.
