Gave my 2 weeks notice.

"Instead of leaving, how about we cut your weekly hours requirement in half until the end of the contract?"

OK, works for me.

And the more I think about it, the more it seems not like compromise, but the better choice altogether.

And now I feel like

@datagrok cool new opportunities! Do you have a plan for the next thing?

@insom I don't have a specific objective, but I have so many plans and new criteria for finding one!

I finally got the thing I was fervently wishing for—time to do things outside of work and family—and I know what a rare luxury it is, so I want to do all the stuff I couldn't:

- go to techy meetups
- study and build new skills, and little projects to show off. Rust, Elm, Scheme, embedded, cad, statistics, machine learning though i'm not keen on most of the industries that use it...

@insom Last time around my #1 job hunt criteria was "open source" but it turns out that wasn't as fulfilling as I had hoped, because it was insufficiently-specified. This time around, I'm going to focus on work that can benefit individual people.

Step zero is to finally perform the fracturing of my digital self that I have been wanting to for so long, so I can speak more freely about personal stuff.
