There's so much debate about religion, strife between theists and atheists and sects--What I don't understand is why no one seems to ask: Who or what created "God" or "the gods"? If it matters so much who created the universe and the mortal creatures in it why doesn't it seem to matter who created the creators?

@Euphoria I don't think anyone asks that because atheists thing people did, and each God/god has their own "beginning" account - for the Abrahamic religions (Judaism, Christianity, and Islam) God always existed. For the Eastern ones usually there's one who always existed to created the others.

@Euphoria Sorry for all the spelling mistakes, apparently I haven't had enough coffee yet this morning!

Thank you for your input, Josh.

I don't understand these theories, but I guess I don't have to.

@Euphoria

There is an Indian philosophical answer that seems to imply that the All was feeling alone and/or annoyed and that is split up and up until was everything there is right now.

The split first created the Universe, then the Gods, then angels and devils, then planets, then creatures and finally the human beings...

Like everything is energy and energy remains constant, I quite like that idea...

@Euphoria i grew up in the church and watched as i grew older how a modest, no frills congregation grew into a pageantry-obsessed "showbiz" machine. i even took part - i used to run the A/V.

as i grew older and asked more questions, i realized nobody had real answers. at least, none that could satisfy my curious mind. as the direction continued towards "the show" of worship, i became disillusioned & quit, cold turkey.

i gave it a good 20 year trial period. i'm still waiting for my money back.
