I really love how the #Mastodon community seems to count so many members of the tech/IT crowd in its membership. Every tech toot, every #linux hashtag, and every programming toot makes me smile. I may have to dig out my old laptop with #slackware and see what I can remember...

Personally, I dont miss the bird at all!

@beardedfancyman I'm still using Twitter at the moment, though honestly my interaction there is low because it is so crowded now and hard to build any meaning connection. I'm curious, did u have anything that u didn't like about Twitter? I'm overall quite neutral to it, but am really not a fan of Facebook and where their reaction-based algo has taken the online world / social content today.

@celes For me, Twitter just became pointless. I see it now as little more than people tweeting at celebrities in the hopes of a retweet . Also, the advertising is offputting... FAcebook and Twitter advertising is (to me) the new Pop-Up Ad. I dont care for being 'marketed to;" if Im interested, I'll search out options for a product/service, I just find it intrusive. Like one long commercial!
