In the decentralized world, you've exchanged a battle-hardened array of machine-learning optimized, finely-tuned Google robots with one very flawed dude who had a hard day at work and has a beer in one hand and is eyeing the edibles but knows he probably shouldn't cross-fade if he's going to go mucking around in the server, especially not when it's almost midnight and there's a Ruby upgrade involved.

Flawed folks with beer in one hand and THOSE ARE GUMMY BEARS SHUT UP STEVE on their desk, doing ill-advised upgrades every night. We're all in this together :) Now go get some sleep :)
@sungo lolol I guess I just like to imagine that Google does it better somehow. I have to have some kind of ideal that I hold in my head
@nolan The difference is that Google typically has hot backups to fail over with tons of redundancy. The privilege of having millions of dollars to spend. But there's a reason us sysadmins act like we all survived 'nam together.
