@xmanmonk I just get 'in the mode' sometimes, because I do have friends who are francos, and then they speak .fr and I reply in .en and everything gets all mixed up. It seems normal though. Sometimes they say English things and sometimes I say French things.

@gemlog My tongue seems restricted to English, a little Spanish and a little Italian (the latter two being combined a lot in my head so that I have trouble crossing over from one to the other).

@xmanmonk Because of @c1t7 I happened upon some italian and I could not be bothered to put the work in, so that's interesting to me. I can fight my way (mostly) through french and spanish. They must just come together in your head better than me.
Meh. I'm not dead yet. I'll just keep at it until I cash in.
I'm getting really good at reading the news (limited vocabulary). http://tinyurl.com/gemnews (stay anonymous and then click on news to expand it). I don't want to be in an echo chamber. Diverse.

@gemlog @c1t7 My grandfather taught me Spanish when he lived in Mexico. But... he mixed it with Italian. So, I have trouble with both languages, and most Hispanics here in the US say that I enunciate Spanish with an Italian accent, which they find funny.

@gemlog @c1t7 The nice thing is, since you're from UK, you probably speak English better than most Americans. Myself included (though I'm Native American, and I know NOTHING of my native language!)

I'm also a member of the culture of invaders that killed your culture and your language. It really isn't a joy to be a white boy born in the UK.

I happen to be Welsh. Guess what the English did to the Welsh? Re the Welsh language and the Welsh culture.

@xmanmonk @c1t7 I just thought: because I live 14 hours north of Vancouver, BC, Canada I only ever deal with literate people from the USA who use the internet.

It must have been the other people who voted for Trumpy. Y'all seem fairly sane to me.
