My only concern with picking an instance is with longevity.

Since these are privately hosted, you want to be reasonably sure that the person hosting your instance won't abandon it in a year, you know?

I'm going to set up a private instance for exactly that reason. (But it's federated, so I can totes do that.)

Anyway, it's neat here. I think you'll like it.

@[email protected] on the other hand, if an instance does go down, it's pretty easy to import your follow list to a new instance, and folks are working on a tool to notify people that you've moved. Should have some progress on that front this weekend.
