The two most important numbers I have read this week:

In Congress, The House is proud that they have finally agreed to send $1 billion in aid to Ukraine.

At the same time, Trump has spent $50 billion on contracts given to his ballroom "sponsors".

In other words, Ukraine surviving Putin's evil invasion has been budgeted one 50th of Trump's ballroom expenses.

Priorities, ladies and gentlemen… Priorities.

@randahl wouldn’t those $50b create jobs, though?

@shootingtsar @randahl adjusted for cost per job the number of USian jobs created by the blatant corruption is basically a rounding error, even more so when factoring how short term they'll be.

That military aid on the other hand supports a great many US jobs, and ensures US arms remain fresh and cutting edge, for better or worse.

@zbrown @randahl well then aren’t all construction jobs too short term to matter? I agree that military aid is excellent too in terms of creating opportunity through government spending
