C.B. made a lot of propaganda for the Indian left (communists) during the independence era. He worked in sketches, linocut, and paintings like this in the classic opaque or gouache style.
I don't know if this work had political implications. Kashmir was already in dispute between Pakistan and India at the time but idk enough context.
