I put several hours in last night and I'm not sure the game deserves to be as divisive as it seems to be. I get the impression this game isn't appreciated as much as 1, 3 or Elden Ring, but so far it hasn't felt unfair, and they did a good job of making Majula feel calming, but at the same time, almost liminal, like Firelink Shrine in 1. That said, there have been some moments like this that just make me say, "Really...?", lol.

@gerowen you should have no problems with this - how many hours? I think you finish in 70hrs #dark soul after dark
