I’m sure the Mormons are going to love that.

I don’t know if anyone has ever attempted, in their misspent youth, to try and tell Mormon missionaries that they’re not Christian, but they don’t generally enjoy it, in my experience.

Lol they kept Christian Scientist. The sect with less than 50k people in the US.

Meanwhile, and far more importantly than Mormons feeling vaguely slighted, they dropped Native American religions from the list entirely. This article from native news online says the DoD claims 19% of all native Americans have served in the military. Not all of them will be part of the Native American religions category, obviously, but there are probably more of them than there are Christian Scientists. Cultural erasure continues.

Celebrating Veterans Day: Native Americans Serve in the Military at the Highest Rate of Any Group

On this Veterans Day, communities across Indian Country are honoring the thousands of Native American and Alaska Native men and women who have served—and continue to serve—in the U.S. Armed Forces at rates higher than any other racial or ethnic group.

Exactly. It was never about streamlining paperwork or whatever bullshit they’re trying to spin it as. Its only ever been about taking away representation from anything that isn’t standard Judeo-Christianity.
Fucking with the Mormon church….not sure the us military really thought this one through.
Never interrupt your enemy when he is making a mistake
Heh. So, a cult then? Like the other cults that’ve simply been around for longer, washing brains and hiding child rapists? But, different, somehow? Good to know.

More important are the 180 religious faiths that were dropped from the list, making over two-thirds of the new list just Christian denominations.

Also, if “agnostic” is on the list, then “atheist” should be too.
