Simple solution that benefits everyone.

Imagine if we did that everywhere, covered our train tracks with solar panels, the water canals, giant stores, factories and offices.

We could lower the dependency on fossil fuel a little and help our planet more.

But I'm sure politicians won't allow that to happen and most people are just too dumb to push for it.

I so agree!!
I've wondered for a long time why there wasn't passed laws making it mandatory to incorporate solar panels on roofs ANY NEW BUILDING!
@TheCentralScrutinizer
Specially giant shopping malls and storage facilities could become very energy efficient if they did that.
@faab64 No, we didn't do it "overnight" in France. We already work for years on it. It's only the law's transition frists that will end soon. We still have not covered all parkings yet, due to a horrible government chaos with the subsidies ... and long waiting lists for material and specialised companies.
Your image has mistakes.

@NatureMC
I know, it's the figurative text..

I agree, it takes years to build up and I only started seeing it here on south of France for about 2 years ago. Unfortunately it still not very popular here

@faab64 Well, it's the problem of investing money.
First the recent government cut all advantages for solar owners giving electricity back to the public net. (When it happened, the farmers in my village stopped a big solar project they had already begun.) Then the chaos with subsidies, one time cut, then reinstalled, extremely difficult forms ... I know a lot of people with debts now. So only big companies do it at the moment ...
But the idea is great! For our hospital it makes a difference to
@faab64 survive, as they need a lot of electricity. A bigger supermarket in town produces all used electricity plus the electricity for a whole quarter of the town.
Unfortunately, Macron's data center plans will kill all these effects ...
