step 1: discover that Proton is sponsoring a famous fascist youtuber
step 2: write a short post to let people know and include screenshots as well so people can see for themselves
step 3: get insulted by desperate sad men who would rather scream that you're spreading fake news and find excuses than consider for even one second that yes, their favorite email provider is indeed partnering with fascist influencers

never change mastodon 👍

It's funny because many of these reply guys seem to assume that I care about Proton and/or finding an alternative to Proton
@nileane okay I feel somewhat called out here because I just asked the latter question, without trying to start an argument or attempting to dispute anything you have said. Genuine question: what should I have done differently?
@jvnknvlgl It's nothing personal. Perhaps something you could have done differently is look at the overall tone of the replies and see that I was already asked the same thing over and over quite a few times and I had already decided not to respond
@nileane that's fair enough, thanks.
@jvnknvlgl You could ask the question of your own followers or people who you know use Proton, rather than just a stranger with no skin in the game.
@jvnknvlgl i can share my thought process. i saw the post, got upset about proton not getting any better since that whole ceo thing, went to cancel subscription, and then searched for mail services (probably will go with Tuta). i didn’t expect Niléane to find answers for me. @nileane
@kym that's also fair. Though for clarification: I didn't expect anything either. My thought process was that a) people on here are often passionate about things and b) maybe there's an awesome service I don't know about yet. In Dutch we have a nice proverb: no is what you have, yes is what you can get (if you ask).
@jvnknvlgl got you. ask fedi is a good hashtag for crowd wisdom 8)
