I understand its general historical context but not what it means that the protagonist is Black.

The movie depicts the Ganim, an Arabian tribe, as predominantly Black too.

@audubonballroon I had a friend, a successful US tech executive, extremely smart, who had some family obligations in India and tried doing stuff in Saudi Arabia and had to give up as they were just too racist against him (and he has been in US for decades and is used to that racism).
