I get why my kid doesn't want to do schoolwork lol... all they want to do is create. And what they create is incredible, so that's probably all that will really matter in the end.

(Most kids, anyway, are more creative than many adults!)
I think "life stuff" can just sort of erode the creativity away, unfortunately.
