@andybrwn I remember working on the construction of one data-centre back in maybe ~2013.
This wasn't even an issue back then. They do use a lot of lead-acid batteries though, in case the power goes out. I remember that it was an explosion risk. They make you take a class on the first day when you work there.
All of the wires and such seemed to be under-floor type stuff. So, there was a whole flooring system just to conceal that beneath.
The issue is that it uses too much electricity now?
