Attached: 1 image There are at least 2 poll-driven word #games on #Mastodon: #HangTrek (#StarTrek theme) & #SarlaccPit (#StarWars theme). The same rules can be used for any similar #game using a different tag & theme. The games are similar to the classic #Hangman word game. One player hosts a #puzzle by coming up with a word, phrase or quote appropriate for the theme. The host posts the puzzle with a pattern of blanks to be filled in. In each round, the host runs a poll with 4 options. Each option is a different letter that may or may not be present in the answer. At least one of the options must be correct (present in the answer), but more than one, even all four, may be present. The winner of each poll is used as a collective guess from those playing. The results are revealed & then a new poll is run until someone guesses the result. Suppose the host chooses “The Force” as the answer to the puzzle.  U as in Utapau If E wins the poll, the result would be: _ _ E / _ _ _ _ E Then a new poll would run. The game ends when someone guesses the right answer (by replying to the poll, usually with a CW) or when the host accrues 10 wrong guesses.
