#EuropeanRail PSA.
Travelling in #Eurostar Plus between London and Netherlands gets you more space, and complimentary and genuinely decent tea, but far more importantly, a whole raft of extra cartoon characters in the information/safety video. Withering look lady remains unchallenged as the queen of emoting just by blinking.

@bestdeadends We did that exact journey in the basic seat and it was genuinely the most uncomfortable mass transit seat I have ever endured. After about 30 mins I had to spend the rest of the journey leaning forward. No idea if I had a bad seat but the pain was so bad we ended up flying back. Sorry!
@geraint
I reserve my personal hatred of bad seats for GWR. I honestly suspect they're designed to nudge folk to pay for first class.
On Eurostar it may depend on how old they are, I myself don't find them inherently uncomfortable. The Plus seats are significantly better though, and the upgrade can be as little as £15 (£30–40 more typical) with good food and alcoholic drinks included.
A general tip on all transit is book an aisle seat for comfort. People like window seats; they wear out faster.
