Any good bookmarking sites/services yous can recommend?

I used del.icio.us waaaay back in the day, and switched to Pinboard like 10 years ago.

Nice features: free form tagging, mark things as unread, searching. searching the content of the web page. autopopulating from some feed (e.g. mastodon boosts, or bluesky favs), auto saving a whole-page snapshot of the page when the bookmark is saved. android integration, FF web extension

@amapanda I've been using the bookmarks plugin of my NextCloud instance which covers some of those features.
@amapanda I just keep tabs open.
@zverik @amapanda same 😂
@ianthetechie @zverik @amapanda ... and the new tab grouping feature from firefox allows you to keep even more tabs open & organized
@karussell @zverik @amapanda oh yeah ;) I have like 300 tabs open right now.

@zverik heresy!

I'm a religious tab closer. Plus I want to have things at home at work and on my phone.

But I want to check some website that I saw 5 years ago, then I need proper bookmarks

@amapanda I don't really use it enough, but I've been using @linkwarden for a while now. Since I already host too much crap anyway I've chosen to self-host, but they also have a cloud version. https://linkwarden.app/
Linkwarden — Bookmarks, Evolved

Save the web, freely | wallabag: a self hostable application for saving web pages

@amapanda Heya! Linkwarden pretty much covers what you’re looking for. It’s also open source, has a bunch of other features, and is actively improving.

Small disclaimer: I’m the maintainer 🙂

@amapanda I don't have any recs, I just want to shout out del.icio.us - what a great thing it was!
@mk30 it was, wasn't it! IIRC it created the hole freedom tagging thing with web 2.0

@amapanda

Happy #linkding user here. Pretty much the same lean UI of delicious and pinboard, with mobile app and browser extensions, API, etc.

My account is part of the #lecturaSocial service offering; no idea of any public service provider for it, but seems pretty straight forward to self-host if that's an option for you.
