It's evening time in May in the UK and I'm sat here with my feet in a bowl of cold water while sucking on a rocket ice lolly to keep cool. If only world leaders cared as much about climate collapse as they do about who can use what toilet. SMFH!  #climateChange #Heatwave #UkWeather

@webidebi My friend in Argentina gave me this "hack", so I think it's been well tested. It's 29oC in my room, and I feel ok.

@DolphinSeeker I know it won't help the big picture, but another small thing you can do is wet down small towels or washcloths, put them in the freezer for a little while, and then lay them across the back of your neck or over your head.

If you have sweatbands, they can do the same job around your wrists and ankles.

Wetting your hair might help if the humidity is low.

@solitha I've been sleeping under a damp sheet at night, it dries far too quickly but at least let's me get to sleep. Our house is in full sun all day and the dark sandstone soaks up the heat then releases it all night.

@webidebi Yeah, if it's dry, using evaporation works so much better.

Another idea that we never had the right setup for: a fan, with a big bowl of ice or ice water in front of it.
