@tsherrygeo Without knowing the full details, and you suggested “bug”,
it might be a ground nesting bee or solitary wasp. They’re both great for your garden!

@tsherrygeo it’s an Ant Lion. I used to catch them as a kid, kept them in a terrarium, and feed them a few ants every day. The pit they dig is to trap ants that fall down and can’t get out.

@ku2y well it's fairly well positioned, ants have been helping themselves to the blackberry flowers a foot away.
