What’s happening at #Area51? The first of the clary sage, a light purple, is blooming making the bees pleased. The 20 year old lavender has survived another day and has been liberated from weeds, a single iris is blooming, countdown to roses, and the perennial bed has been cleaned up in prep for it to be gorgeous in a few weeks.

When you feel helpless about the state of the world, 3 hours of rage weeding really helps.

@IcooIey haha one of me friends recently did some of that rage weeding, noticed when my help wasn't wanted XD

@IcooIey "rage weeding really helps" -- rage weeding has now entered my conscious vocabulary thanks to this, having long practiced it myself as a form of #multisolving, particularly since #gardening in challenging environments... without having the word.

Sadly since climate chaos and fascism-creep, probably useful everywhere now.

[edit] -- prob best done without power tools!

@wavesculptor @IcooIey I always tell myself, "I cannot fix everything in the world, but right here and now I can make this little place a bit more pleasant to be in." There's something reassuring about being able to do that, at least.
@crinolinerobot @wavesculptor I know many of the people in my life do not understand my obsession with my community garden plot. But it’s a place where I can see the impact of my actions and it brings joy and solace to others.
