Fun that you mention it - to the ethical nihilists, morality is entirely subjective, as well as effectively purposeless in a finite universe. And the fact that basically every lifeform has the same survival instinct, to them, does not mean that life is intrinsically sacred - it merely means that everyone shares the same biological bias.

But declaiming "morality is subjective" is a favorite pastime for many these days.

They are factually wrong of course, and it does not take much work to figure that out, but if their worldview crumbles, they'll be reluctant to put in that effort.
