@broadwaybabyto Capitalism treats people like rented instruments. Even the term human capital evokes property in the person. Renting people means owning a segment of their labor services.

Back in the Civil War there were slavers actually making the argument that people treat property better when they own it than when they merely rent it, such that slaves were BETTER OFF than waged workers.
