Nice. @hetzner added a proof of work bot protection to their accounts subdomain that requires me to enable WASM.
WTF
I definitely won't do that. So no more access to my servers. Noice.
That is definitively the wrong way of doing a bot protection.

@lukasrotermund why you have disabled a WASM at all?
By default that feature is enabled in all browsers.
@vitonsky that is not the question. I disabled it because I don't trust random website to run random WASM code in my browser. Same as webGL. Ship HTML and maybe JS and we can talk.
And some great browser like LibreWolf give you the permission to disable it. It's my active decision.
@lukasrotermund ok, it seems you are just a member of some minority group who uses extravagant technologies like Internet Explorer 6, so your preferences may be ignored.
That is how business planning does work. Only the majority groups are important, because they bring money for business, not a marginals like you

@vitonsky @lukasrotermund that is just plain wrong.
The majority of people aren't e.g. interested in pokemon tcg. The majority of people who are interested in pokemon tcg, aren't willing to spend 2150 bucks on "Umbreon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) - SWSH07: Evolving Skies (SWSH07)" yet between 6-8. May 3 were bought and sold.
Akira Nakai is a Japanese man who founded RWB and all he does, is performing extreme, freehand widebody conversions on vintage air-cooled Porsche 911s. His net worth is estimated to 1-3 million usd. I think we all can agree once more that this is not a business for the majority.
Gacha games were in 2025 estimated to have a market size of 4 billion. Gacha games are famous for their "whales". 1%-2% of their users generate up to 90% of total in-game revenue. Consequently the games are made for the 1%-2% of users.
The majority is not the driving force behind business. What a poor understanding of business. Hetzner is a server hoster. Their average customer is not the average person on the street. Their most valuable customers are probably a weirdo (I mean it lovingly).
@vitonsky @lukasrotermund no. But your answer shows that you are a deeply unserious person who doesn't understand the basics of business. I strongly recommend reading up on how real businesses work before commenting on business related topics if you don't want to embarrass yourself.
Kind regards.
@tartas1995 @lukasrotermund ok, I’ll go read something so I can become a serious person like you, who knows the life story of a guy with a $3M net worth.
Will the alphabet book or Rich Dad Poor Dad be enough?
@vitonsky @lukasrotermund I start to understand why you build llm tools. You can't parse text and understand the meaning.
I gave you a bunch of examples of businesses that don't target the majority but the people that would actually pay for their produit, like serious businesses would do.
Your response doesn't address anything. It insist on a misrepresentation of my point and @lukasrotermund 's point. (That makes you unserious)
I advised you to read up because you are clueless and are embarrassing yourself and your company.
And yes, being more like me would be an huge improvement for you and I am a very flawed person.
@vitonsky @tartas1995 who uses IE6? LibreWolf has nothing to do with what you are saying and is a state of the art browser
I just used my possibility to disable shitty WASM. That's it. You are comparing apples with pears here. Nobody should still use IE6...?! Totally different topic.
@lukasrotermund @[email protected] don't get distracted. He is an deeply unserious person.
Block him. I will do the same. I just went to his profile to do so and I saw that he claims to be a founder and ceo. Seemed relevant to the topic, so I looked into it.
He claims to be the founder of an application programmed by the "company" that he is ceo of. Their websites look poorly made but that is just another distraction. The team has a github linked on the website. 1 team is following the github... he himself.
@kharkerlake @hetzner They just answered. WASM is required. **No WASM, no access to your servers.** So I guess I will move everything to another hoster again 🤷♂️
