That is definitively the wrong way of doing a bot protection.
It’s wild how some people think it’s baseline acceptable to run proprietary junk as WASM on strangers’ machines.

@sn0opy I generally only allow JS execution on FOSS software because I don't trust it either; and just on websites I trust, like Hetzner. I don't even trust my own employer's JS. The difference for me is that I could read their JS. Not their WASM. And if there’s one thing I really can’t stand, it’s proprietary junk, especially when random websites just want to embed and run it without asking, as if that were the most normal thing in the world. JS is bad enough as it is.

By default that feature is enabled in all browsers.
@vitonsky that is not the question. I disabled it because I don't trust random website to run random WASM code in my browser. Same as webGL. Ship HTML and maybe JS and we can talk.
And some great browser like LibreWolf give you the permission to disable it. It's my active decision.

That is how business planning does work. Only the majority groups are important, because they bring money for business, not a marginals like you

The majority of people aren't e.g. interested in pokemon tcg. The majority of people who are interested in pokemon tcg, aren't willing to spend 2150 bucks on "Umbreon VMAX (Alternate Art Secret) - SWSH07: Evolving Skies (SWSH07)" yet between 6-8. May 3 were bought and sold.

Gacha games were in 2025 estimated to have a market size of 4 billion. Gacha games are famous for their "whales". 1%-2% of their users generate up to 90% of total in-game revenue. Consequently the games are made for the 1%-2% of users.
The majority is not the driving force behind business. What a poor understanding of business. Hetzner is a server hoster. Their average customer is not the average person on the street. Their most valuable customers are probably a weirdo (I mean it lovingly).

Block him. I will do the same. I just went to his profile to do so and I saw that he claims to be a founder and ceo. Seemed relevant to the topic, so I looked into it.
He claims to be the founder of an application programmed by the "company" that he is ceo of. Their websites look poorly made but that is just another distraction. The team has a github linked on the website. 1 team is following the github... he himself.

@kharkerlake @hetzner I couldn't find the time yesterday because I worked until 10pm and felt into my bed. I just looked, but there is no support email address, so I guess I just have to call them in my lunch break. I will give an update when I know more.
@kharkerlake @hetzner They just answered. WASM is required. **No WASM, no access to your servers.** So I guess I will move everything to another hoster again 🤷♂️
