David Todd McCartyFirst day really flying a drone. For a marina client, so all involving saltwater, which is a bit unnerving. I didn’t crash and didn’t put it in the drink, so quality first effort, if I do say so. Didn’t try to do too much. I do need to remember to hit record before I start flying, so check that. I also need to get a better handle on these ND filters and their effect on this particular setup.
Joseph A di Paolantonio@dtm @czds and I had one bad experience with our first drone. There were severe solar storm warnings, and high winds kicked-in. The drone lost its GPS signal. Between trying to reacquire its GPS signal and fighting the winds, the battery suddenly went from 30% to less than 10%. It couldn’t return-to-home automatically and kept trying to land, but refusing to land on gravel. It finally landed on the road near our place, and we got to it just in time to see a Tesla run it over.
