THIS SUCKS WIDE.

THERE IS NO WAY IT COULD SUCK ANY WIDER.

Google Search as you know it is over | TechCrunch

Google is transforming Search from a list of links into an AI-powered experience filled with conversational answers, autonomous agents, and interactive interfaces — a shift that could further reduce traffic to publishers across the web.

@researchbuzz I recently learned that if I follow my search word or phrase with -hai that I would get results without ai at the head of the results. Will they now just submerged and permeate all results with ai ?
@BegoniaArizona You don't even get links, just a mashwad of Google's AI output.
@researchbuzz that is not going to help. What’s an alternative?
@BegoniaArizona Mojeek? Brave?
@researchbuzz ooops I’m and old gal, with no grandkids to help. Are those websites like duck duck go?

@BegoniaArizona You're all good!

Mojeek.com
Brave.com

If you want to try a smaller search engine, there's a one-man show running Stract.com . It's pretty small though so try the others first.

@researchbuzz. Aww thanks so much! That’s a lifeline,
@BegoniaArizona I got a whole bunch of search tools at https://searchtweaks.com/ . Right now they're hooked up to Google but if they really go through with this foolishness I will hook it up to Brave or Mojeek.
SearchTweaks -- tools to make your Web search easier/better/more productive

@researchbuzz so I just did comparative searches on google and mojeek, night and day difference ! Like comparing a convenience store food offerings with a farmer’s market offerings.
@BegoniaArizona They probably don't think it's worth it to try to get a bigger index than Google so they're being smart about what they pick up.
DuckDuckGo - Protection. Privacy. Peace of mind.

The Internet privacy company that empowers you to seamlessly take control of your personal information online, without any tradeoffs.

@knowattitude thank you! I will try that.
@researchbuzz @BegoniaArizona Startpage.com might also be worth checking out
