Our local independent bookshop has a monthly ‘mystery book’ subscription. The staff have hand-crafted teeny tiny editions of each title they’ve included so far. Each book cover is a faithful rendition of the real one. Amazon could never. AI could never.

@clickhere I like your hashtag. I think 'AI Could Never' often these days. Every time I spot a nice sign of A Human Did This in the everyday. Like a hand-made crocheted bookmark. Or a funny comment with a spelling mistake someone stuck on a Post-it. Or a blurry photo of the arse of a hedgehog someone didn't quite manage to capture in their garden. Or these teeny tiny books at the local bookshop.
@CiaraNi Thanks. And yeah, I find myself thinking about things like that increasingly - what are the things that only people can do? What are the in-person experiences we can share? What jobs are safe from AI harm?
