Today I got most of the way through a sewing project (that I had not expected to do): making my own shinai bag for #kendo. Since the construction is fairly simple, and my husbasd is quite good at various fibre crafts, I decided to make one myself rather than buying one.

So after training on Saturday, I measured Sensei's, made a plan (with some husband consultation). Sunday we went and bought some fabric, and I washed the famric , and made a ½ scale mockup from scraps (it's kinda cute, but also butt-ugly because I wanted every part and stitch to be clear).

There's a few things I need to do before I can construct it, mainly just to fix some errors. I'll wait for husband to get home first to make sure I don't make things worse!
Aaaaaand it's done in time for training tonight.
