The only sport I follow is Hockey. I root for two teams: The #NewYorkIslanders and any playing the #NewYorkRangers. Lately, men's hockey has been a disappointment. Hockey players belittling the women's team, cozying up to Trump, dumping Roy and bringing back Lee (who was partying with Kash) is making me sick. I'm going to just watch the #PWHL exclusively after seeing this report:

Islanders solicit funds for ex-NYPD officer convicted in death

The New York Islanders are facing criticism for promoting a fundraiser for a former New York City police sergeant who was convicted of manslaughter. The promotion was shown on the jumbotron during Tuesday's game against the Carolina Hurricanes. It urged fans to donate to Erik Duran's legal defense. Duran was sentenced to three to nine years in prison last week for causing the death of Eric Duprey by throwing a cooler at him in 2023. The team said it would direct a quarter of proceeds from a raffle to Duran's defense. It included a QR code for other direct contributions. Duprey's family criticized the move as insensitive. The Islanders have not commented.

PS If you have not watched any of the #PWHL games, you should. The games are just as enjoyable as the #NHL with less drama.
@manchuck does less drama mean they allow the fights to go until they are done without qq fines levied? that is what i miss about the minor league back up where i used to live in indiana. the fort wayne team had this one irish man who was only put on the ice to throw fists as soon as the puck drops. bro happily spent more time in the box than playing.

@bobmagicii Drama as in the US Men's team cozying up to Trump by laughing at the women's team.

For the Islanders, it's firing Roy so they can afford to bring back Lee because he won the gold medal (that's my theory and I'm sticking to it), also supporting a convicted police officer who threw an ice machine at a suspect

@manchuck I just drove to Chicago to see the Hawks lose twice in person. Totally worth it but slightly soul-crushing.
