@tindie Thanks for the longer statement.
Q. If due to new ownership (from 14 April), and the new owners “are genuinely excited about Tindie and what the platform can be” (which is great news, by the way), can you also advise when the new owners intend to make a public statement?
I would think it would be in their best interests to do this sooner, rather than later!
Ideally, the 503 Error Page would simply be replaced with a more descriptive message about what is happening and what is coming! 🤓
@GregZone Yeah, that's something I've asked about. I believe it will be part of the post-mortem once the site is back up.
@tindie can we at least ask who the new owners are? don't they want to introduce themselves?

@tindie So #SupplyFrame have no interest now in Tindie? Was about to start emailing their directors.

The transition teams have royally screwed up - new owners have pretty much burnt all goodwill #Tindie still had remaining.

Trust is gone.

What about all the payouts many sellers are owed?

And even though all agreed the old site had issues - why not keep it going until new platform ready?

Absolutely no one does web development like this. Well except...

Did SupplyFrame sell it for a $1?

@tindie Why on earth wouldn't you just email the sellers

Why does this statement expire in 6 days when the downtime could clearly exceed that

Why wouldn't you build a new site in parallel while operating the old one like everyone else does

Who are the new owners

@combs I suspect they still don't have access to the database with the seller's contact details...

@tindie wow, that's wild. They say trust is earned, the new owners of #Tindie have dug themselves into a hole they'll have a hard time coming back from.

How and when will people get their money back (I guess buyers can go to PayPal but that's not going to work for sellers)?

Can the new owner please identify themselves or do we need to contact them through the registered agent?

@burtyb
At this point I'd be contacting them through lawyers and the courts!
@tindie
@burtyb @tindie Trust is earned in spoons and lost in buckets. They are in for a hard time.

@tindie
IMPORTANT QUESTION

Is “Tindie” a legal entity in itself, with which sellers had, and maintain, a contract, but just under new ownership (shareholders).

I.e. is payout of balances and refunds actually enforceable against “Tindie”?

Or is “Tindie” just a brand and a code base and so the new owners don’t actually have any contract with existing sellers and customers? If so, who is the previous contracting party, which sellers can now sue for pay out? Or is it dissolved?

We need to know.

@tindie I see the reply on support tickets says:

"Tindie is a brand of Supplyframe Inc."

Is that still the case? or is the email lying to me?

@tindie This is bad decision making by the new owners, which makes me not trust them going forward.

Immediately breaking the site with no notice, trapping sellers money and stopping them from shipping inspires zero confidence in their ability to run the site well going forward.

I'm sorry the new owners have put you in this situation Alexander.

@edbrindley @tindie no info on the "about us" page, "our terms" is a page from 2015. A bit poor after a "complete relaunch" not really confidence inspiring. 🤷‍♂️
@tindie I’m glad I no longer sell through Tindie. Shutting down like this without warning is unacceptable and an excellent way to get rid of your clients. In the end sellers are better off self-hosting their stores. What a sh*t show.
@tindie I’m really starting to get concerned that this is all a huge Scam? Tindie is back online, but no improvements evident. In fact, very similar time-outs as we had prior to the 2 week outage. Now you’re accepting money from Buyers. Sellers are faithfully sending out product. But still no pay-outs! In fact, even a promise I made to a Buyer for a partial refund has gone unanswered by Tindie. Please come clean about what is really happening. If you're legit, then give us regular updates!
