Not a vending machine, but here's an lobster (伊勢海老) crane game in Shinsekai Osaka (大阪、新世界) back in November of 2005.
I've only seen two "Marine Catcher" machines. The other one was some place in Nagasaki.

I've lived in Japan long enough that I remember getting 10kg of some peak 丹波篠山こしひかり for the same price we're paying for 5kg of mids now.

This appears to be a recycling machine where you insert a crushed can to make the slot machine run. I assume a win would make some change come out of the hole on the right.
Above the hole on the left it says 「空缶？入口」.
