Typhoon left a trail of damage across the Northern Mariana Islands

A super typhoon in the Pacific Ocean flipped over cars and ripped away tin roofs on the remote Northern Mariana Islands. So far, there have been no reports of deaths. Authorities in the U.S. territory are just beginning to assess the damage left behind by Super Typhoon Sinlaku. It first hit the islands Tuesday night local time and continued with a barrage of fierce winds and relentless rains for hours on Wednesday. Power was out and many of the roads were impassible across Saipan, the largest of the Mariana Islands. The storm also battered the U.S. territory of Guam with tropical force winds and heavy rains.
