I just remembered that Hellboy exists, and given that I've not seen mentions of it for ages makes it one of the most underrated comic series there is.
Right behind BPRD, which is actually somewhat obscure and I think actually even better.

The world of entertainment needs way more stuff of that style.

@yora well... you seem to like Mike Mignola :P

Any love for the Nocturnals?

@kyonshi @yora

@Printdevil @yora by the way Fables has been released into the public domain by the author (although DC comics is against that), so can be found on archive.org

(I'm not actually sure if he was able to do that)

@Printdevil @yora just mentioning it because, you know, lesser talked about series

Hellboy is pretty famous in the scheme of things, but I was surprised that there was an RPG of Nocturnals.

@kyonshi @yora

I have an artist friend, now retired, who worked for disney, but he could do a flawless Mike Mignola style, and they were a joy. Some of his sketches in various styles are in my wedding book, he just doodled in different artists styles during the day back in the 00s

Nowdays he can't even pick up sketch work because of Ai.

Not on topic, but the Mignola mention made me think of it.

@yora

the del toro films were decently faithful, i enjoyed them.

@saltywizard Yes, they are fine. And pretty good adaptations.

But they still only give a brief hint of the character, the world, and the story.

@yora

for sure. forgive me for intruding on a comicbook conversation with movie reviews.
