@Ken5280 I almost stayed at the castle hotel next door. There are a couple towers that are a little bit like this in Ireland, where you've got an older slender tower and later on they wanted more space and so built a larger and more modern tower house and then tried to blend the spaces together. Blarney Castle is a rather famous example.
