We must not forget that ICE continues to mistreat people every day. https://www.bbc.com/news/articles/cd0rre4d9k0o
French woman, 86, held by ICE after moving to US to reunite with long-lost love

The son of pensioner Marie-Thérèse says he worries for his mother's frail health, while she is detained in a Louisiana ICE centre.

@heidilifeldman So no, not even Grandma can come see the WC this summer...
@heidilifeldman 'Callous' is too lame a descriptor for these bastards and the bastards who set their people-crushing orders.

@heidilifeldman

This is a news item that I wish would be at the top of the news, daily. Above the Iran news.

These are real people, held captive in highly abusive conditions, without trial, here in the USA.

This should be impossible. And we are not even talking about it.

@Edelruth @heidilifeldman yet noone's gonna free them!

  • Just like with the Nazis: People knew about the Concentration Camps and didn't free the people in them!
    • The #USA has far less excuses amidst their #2A!

If it's not to stop #fascism, then what is it for?:

@heidilifeldman That poor, poor lady. She's lost the love of her life and her freedom, I hope they release her soon.

@heidilifeldman

So, it is likely that her step son reported her.

Who are the people reporting people to ICE?

Zampoli is obviously not the only one using the system against other human beings. They should have a spotlight on them so everyone knows exactly who and what they are.

@AnnieBuddy @heidilifeldman

In case anyone is interested, ya know, for the sake of knowing things, the son who reported her to ICE is called William Mathias Jr. He’s a resident of Anniston, Alabama, which is in Calhoun county. He went to high school with the sheriff, and most of the local gendarmerie.

@AnnieBuddy @heidilifeldman

And I'd just like to add that emotionally, I understand how it could be devastating to lose your dad, but possibly lose all of your mom's heirlooms to a relative newcomer.

My father squandered what I received from my grandparents on a series of very beautiful and very expensive ex-wives, as well as letting them have my grandmother's heirlooms and jewelry. I truly understand murderous rage. I do.

But, an 86 year old woman hardly fits the stereotype of a femme fatale, even if she is French. And if she is, then girl...I need notes on how to be that alluring in my 80s, sheesh I barely pull it off in my 60s.

Sending a woman who is almost a century old, into ICE custody constitutes a grave moral injustice, and for someone to enable it, to encourage it, to make it happen? There is no excuse.

No property is worth human suffering.

@AnnieBuddy @heidilifeldman If true that makes the stepson a SNITCH.

No different that 1939 Germans reporting someone to the Gestapo for hiding someone in their attic

@LukefromDC @AnnieBuddy @heidilifeldman

Sometimes when the Nazis occupied other countries they'd arrive in a new place and be given notes from local people anonymously snitching on each other.

So some people have always been mean and amoral (to say the least).

@heidilifeldman I read this article and took away something different, namely: there are those who embrace ICE as a tool to get rid of others with things they covet

@heidilifeldman I just heard that they were standing outside of military bases and waited for the relatives of some of the soldiers. Particularly when they finished their first education and celebrated that with their family.

Army Sergeant's Undocumented Spouse Detained by ICE on Military Base - Basile Today

A U.S. Army staff sergeant and his wife, an undocumented Honduran immigrant, arrived at his base in Louisiana last week expecting to begin their life together as newlyweds. However, within hours, Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents entered the base and detained his wife, who was facing a prior deportation order from 2005 when she was a toddler. The couple had hired a lawyer and were in the process of applying for the wife's green card when she was taken into custody, disrupting the soldier's preparations for an upcoming deployment.

National Today

@heidilifeldman

probably because nobody LOVES ICE guys......this is outrageous.

@heidilifeldman call them #AmericanGestapo because that's what they are.

  • Including public executions of opposition figures…

@heidilifeldman "Marie-Thérèse's son said his story 'was like a bad American film.'"

"Taken" inverted.
