I've already started reading the manga adaptation for the current arc, so I already have a bit of an idea of what's going to happen in the current season 4. I'm so excited.

@sam4000 @apc Love the show as well. It succeeds in creating characters I want to do well. I get upset with the bad guys, which is a good sign :)

Haven’t seen the bunnies from the image there.

(Also I don’t know the story behind the new image they have at the end of each episode. If it’s a fan thing or something else. But it’s such a nice little touch.)

I just found the images online. The second one is actually from Part 4 (or Arc 4). The current season is adapting the third part.

@sam4000 @apc The light novel is fully translated, 33 books plus a few side story ones.

I usually can't concentrate enough to read light novels; I'd rather listen to the audiobook or read the manga adaptation.

But it's good to know that "Brookwork" is a title where the light novel is definitely worth reading.

@sam4000 it sounded interesting for me, too, and I might have picked it up soon. but the recent use of generative AI made me take it off my watchlist again.

A supplier for background art violated Studio WIT’s official rules by using generative AI without permission.

The reason is outsourcing, which is widely used throughout the anime industry. That is why the lack of quality control is the scandal.

It’s similar to the AI subtitles on Crunchyroll, which also outsource a great deal. That’s how it slipped through.

So the discussion really had to focus on systemic issues, such as pay and working hours in the industry.

From studios struggling to make ends meet, to freelancers, manga artists...

The cost pressure is enormous.

These problems have existed for decades.

@sam4000 I just researched that topic again, and it seems like in the meanwhile, the studio removed the gen AI stuff and apologized. So, I might still give it a chance.
