Michel Faber is a Dutch-born author of literary science fiction, based in Scotland. His novel Under the Skin, about an alien who picks up hitchhikers for sinister purposes, became a 2013 film. His SF novel The Book of Strange New Things was shortlisted for the Clarke and Locus Awards.
