Unlike #Earth, our #moon is subjected to a constant #bombardment by #meteorites of all sizes, due in part to the lack of a comparable #atmosphere. However, it is rare for larger craters to be discovered immediately after an #impact. Thanks to NASA's #LunarReconnaissanceOrbiter Camera, a larger impact in late spring 2024 could be described in more detail.
