🕛Illusions of control. Abandoned power plant control rooms are always fascinating to explore and photograph.

@ObsidianUrbex Looks like Aperture Science undergrounds.
@ObsidianUrbex The third one looks like the TVA in "Loki."

@courtcan @ObsidianUrbex I was just about to say the exact same!

I adored the aesthetic in Loki. They did such a wonderful job imho.

@courtcan @ObsidianUrbex best set design ever. Yes including Severance
@ObsidianUrbex I had the opportunity of replacing similar electrical network and pipeline control systems with modern SCADA systems. The operators liked the overview the large panels gave at a glance. The big walls of instruments were replaced by large displays that gave the same info but there was also the ability to drill down into far more detail on a workstation that the modern system provided.
Railways are very conservative and we had to build the old style panels driven by a computer.

@ObsidianUrbex

these are really nice

@ObsidianUrbex

Fit the stereotypical concepts of what a control room should look like! Nice.

@ObsidianUrbex

Cool. Could you name the places?

@distincteclare
Little PSA, photographers of lost places often choose not to share the location name. For many reasons, usually related to protecting the site from looting and vandalism ☺️

@ObsidianUrbex

I fully agree and understand. It's just that I thought to recognize one location I had seen in a Swiss movie. But nevermind.
Thanks nevertheless.

@ObsidianUrbex Beautiful photographs! I love how they each capture such a highly pronounced aesthetic from a specific moment in time.
@ObsidianUrbex was one of those panels still powered on in that fist one or is that a trick of the room lighting?

@zolaris
I have also been, three times 😉
@ObsidianUrbex @zolaris your photos are so much more nice to look at without that distracting watermark
@feliks @zolaris
I am sure you can find enough to enjoy in the photos without looking at that bottom right corner. Just steer your eyes away, it really isn't that bad 😉
@ObsidianUrbex bug ocd is making my eyes twitch ;)
