/e/ and Murena have been been promoting their products by misleading people about GrapheneOS for years. This has turned into an all out war on GrapheneOS by their company and supporters. We began regularly debunking their inaccurate claims and they try to frame it as aggression.
They've created widespread misconceptions about the GrapheneOS project with inaccurate claims about the purpose of the project and what it provides to users. Many people incorrectly believe they aren't our target audience or that it wouldn't be a good fit for them due to this.
@GrapheneOS As someone who has been using grapheneos since pixel 3, I'd say any claims of lack of usability are nonsense. I now have a pixel 8 with grapheneos and my wife has the same. My eldest child has a pixel 7 with grapheneos and all of my children have a pixel tablet with grapheneos installed.
The only app I've found that didn't work was a banking app that used play integrity. I have four other banking apps that work just fine.
@GrapheneOS The contact scopes and storage scopes features are absolute game changers for privacy. Being able to give a curated list of my contacts to say, WhatsApp, is a very powerful feature.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS Yes, totally agree, and these feature will be expanded to mic, camera, location, etc.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS French gov says this kind of privacy is not good for users.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS It makes you think why it was never the default to begin with.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS how is the camera? when i tried years ago it was kinda meh
@b1_66er @catfishes GrapheneOS has the same camera features and quality as the stock Pixel OS within the same app. If you want to use Pixel Camera on GrapheneOS, that works fine even without installing sandboxed Google Play in the profile with it.
@b1_66er for personal photos I use google camera which on grapheneos is fully featured. For work photos I use the secure camera as bundled with gos. The gos camera is perfectly okay and removes metadata by default. I also use storage scopes to keep everything separate.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS
I've heard that all about android auto was not working. Do you confirm ?

Unfortunately my car is too much of a classic to incorporate such a feature! Looking at reports from the grapheneos forum it works perfectly.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS same here, I use GrapheneOS since Pixel 3 as well, and it was highly usable even before Sandboxed Google Play became a thing, now there's no reason to come back to the stock OS except for some easily avoidable apps which tend to be of low quality anyway. The installation proccess was never a pain, but now with the web installer I just install Graphene on my new devices using my older ones just fine.
@catfishes @GrapheneOS Me too - I love my Pixel / Graphene, trouble-free.
