This is what the inside of a tube (underground) carriage looks like, gutted for refurbishment….
@TheBreadmonkey They’re pretty much hand built, no two carriages are alike. It’s a team of skilled workers who make every panel to fit, teams of electricians running cables and terminating them.

@j3di

So these were sent to me by my Brother in Law who's currently working on them! It's pretty interesting.

@TheBreadmonkey From my time at Washwood Heath, Birmingham. Testing Pendolinos at the end of the production line. So coincidentally the same line where Jubilee tube trains were produced I think.
@j3di @TheBreadmonkey An alternative view from when I was dispatched to LU's Ruislip depot to weld some brackets on the underside of some of their wagons.
@DJDarren @j3di @TheBreadmonkey Used to be a couple of old geezers in the pub who worked for bombardier (Think it’s called Alston now).
They were insistent that they had ferrets living at the factory that would run cables down tight spaces.
Could never figure out if they were taking the piss.
@BenCotterill @DJDarren @TheBreadmonkey You know I’ve heard cats being used to run cables but never believed it. Crazy stories are sometimes true!
