(include the last period in this link!!) was named after Nikola Tesla "who briefly studied in Prague, but when the association with a Serbian American became politically inconvenient it was explained as abbreviation from TEchnika SLAboproudá, which means 'low-current technology'" - this is a much cooler expanded form imo, and it never fails to surprise me that the more I research Comecon tech, the more links I find to permacomputing...

@@anmeisel I was listening to Tesla radio in my childhood and other equipment but we called Tesla "TEchnicky SLAbší" (technically weaker) referring to japan or other brands as the eastern production in 80s was significantly  behind with old-style tranzistors and stuff, but now it is like beloved retro.
