@dgar

USA: Are we the baddies?

The World: Obviously!

@Linux @dgar β€œwait a minute Hans, are we the bad guys” - That Mitchell & Webb Thing
@dgar I think I know what you mean
@dgar
we also have to pay attention to the pale complexion...
@dgar
How do you call those who try to sugarcoat this with statements like: "It's part of his strategy" like german chancellor Friedrich Merz did?
@C_Ottenburg @dgar also villains. But they're more Grima Wormtongue level in that case I guess.

This is so stereotypical- it implies the villain is always some gross old man with a weird complexion saying evil shit in a weird voice....

Oh.

@dgar yeah, that's how we know we live in some really shoddy work of fiction.
worse: a sequel.
and not even the second part but one of those they'd only put out on VHS when people already were switching to streaming
@dgar The difference between now and the past isn’t whether we would kill an entire civilization for a given natural resource. It’s that we normally don’t *say it out loud*. Typically, we just proceed while saying we’re liberating folks or some other dumb shit. This is an era of terribly unfortunate honesty.

@dgar a whole civilization will die tonight

but not Iran

the United States under Donald Trump's foolishness

@dgar yet the citizens of Hornsby still elected him mayor for all those post-parlie years!
